Cotton is renowned for its soft hand and comfortable feel. Active Cotton™, by KINISI Corporation, builds on the way cotton performs. By integrating new technology into the fiber, cotton’s natural characteristic for water absorption is enhanced by funnelling it to the outside of the garment in a uni-direction away from the skin. Active Cotton™ pulls moisture away from the skin to emulate the body’s natural “cooling.” But Active Cotton™, unlike synthetics, does not wick and soak the garment. It only moves moisture to the surface of the fabric allowing for evaporation. This keeps the rest of the garment dry and comfortable, eliminating the “chill” or “clammy” feeling from synthetics because water is trapped against the skin or soaked in the garment. Studies show that performance cotton fabric outperforms many leading athletic brand performance fabrics made from synthetics in moisture wicking, and dry time.
NO CHAFING
During exercise, many fabrics can become overly-saturated with perspiration. As the body moves, friction is created between the skin and fabric. Because most wet fabrics tend to cling to the skin, irritation or chafing can occur. Active Cotton™ fabrics have demonstrated significant reductions in the amount of cling force next to the skin when wet, meaning no irritation or discomfort during exercise.
NO ODOUR
Many of today’s performance garments are petroleum based (synthetic/ polyester) which provides a distinct odour. Moreover, it is also not uncommon for synthetic garments to “trap” odour causing microbes from repeated workouts. Due to the nature of the garment, it is unlikely to remove this odour through laundering. Cotton, being an organic fiber, is easily laundered and naturally breathes.
MOISTURE MOVEMENT, NO ITCHING
Synthetic fibers naturally repel water and therefore need to be topically treated with a chemical agent that loses its ability to wick away moisture with each washing. However, the comfort qualities of Active Cotton™ are permanent. They're built right into the fiber itself so you always feels soft, odour free, and always stay dry. The more you wash the garment, the better it performs.
