Law Enforcement

Many officers are looking for shirts that are lightweight, wick moisture, and are soft next to the skin. Second, feedback from officers has highlighted a distinct want for further protection against threats from laceration from blades, bottles, edged objects and even biting. These types of injuries are typically unforeseen and instantaneous, and can be severe and critical.
Research conducted with various police forces has documented various neck injuries, some fatal. It has also highlighted the numerous (and more frequent) encounters by which an officer comes in contact with edged weapons. In this context, many officers are trained to raise their forearms to protect against such a threat, making their wrist and forearms vulnerable to severe gashes. The wrist and inside of the forearm are extremely sensitive with significant tendons, arteries, veins and soft tissue. BODYARMOUR® provides protection in these areas, allowing time to potentially react to the threat.
In a recent survey, m
ore than 80% of Police Chiefs polled indicated that officers are facing an increasing number of threats that are non-ballistic.
BODYARMOUR® should be considered by any person working in a field that puts them at risk from unknown assailants or weapons.
BODYARMOUR® is currently approved for use by Correctional Services Canada for their officers, after rigorous testing by their safety committee.
