Pro-Formance Insights (PFI), headquartered in Ottawa, Canada, is a design and manufacturing company dedicated to creating innovative safety products for high risk sports and professions. PFI recognizes that through the convergence of performance and protection, there is an opportunity to minimize injuries due to lacerations.
PFI was launched after witnessing a horrific on ice incident whereby an errant skate blade severed the brachial artery of young hockey player, leading to severe blood loss and nerve damage for the individual. There was no product protecting hockey players in the critical areas of the wrist and arms, and the owners of PFI were determined to invent a solution for all levels of hockey players. Since then, our protective products have expanded to address “at risk” individuals in other areas such as law enforcement, correctional services, para-medics, and tactical officers. Recent developments are creating new opportunities every day.

e of protective base layer products. Leveraging PFI’s patent, BODYARMOUR® is a line of performance garments that include the safety of cut protection integrated with Next2Skin™ comfort of moisture wicking technical fabrics. Different designs and weights are incorporated in the BODYARMOUR® portfolio to best meet the requirements of our users. For more aggressive protection, The Breacher® is PFI’s patented protective sleeve for forced insertions by tactical teams.
